Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has reiterated his government’s commitment to providing continuous logistical support to security forces.
The Governor stated this while launching the distribution of Hilux patrol vehicles to security agencies and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) operating in Maiduguri and its environs.
Out of the 63 vehicles distributed, 30 were given to the 10 different sectors of the CJTF, 16 to Rapid Response and Anti-Social Vices, 10 to paramilitary organizations, 6 to hunters, and one to NAPTIP.
Governor Babagana Umara Zulum emphasised that security is a cardinal priority of his administration, hence the need for continuous support to the security apparatus in the state to enhance their operations.
Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the security forces for their efforts to restore normalcy in the state.
He further warned the leadership of the Civilian Joint Task Force against the misuse of the patrol vehicles and to only put them to the purpose for which they were intended. Anyone caught using the vehicles for social activities would be punished.
The Governor further directed the State Security Trust Fund to ensure the regular maintenance of the vehicles, including the old ones previously donated.
Speaking at the event, the Coordinator of the Civilian JTF, Retired Col. Gambo, assured that they would work tirelessly in collaboration with the conventional security outfits to see to the end of the activities of the insurgents across the state.
He further commended Governor Babagana Zulum for the provision of the patrol vehicles, assuring that they would be used for the purpose intended.
The latest donation is one of the numerous vehicle distributions delivered by the Zulum-led administration since 2019, all of which are targeted at strengthening the security architecture and safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens.
