The North-East Zonal Director of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dahiru Garba Mohammed, has charged staff of Radio Nigeria Peace FM Maiduguri to produce programs and news with meaningful content and professional quality.

Mr. Mohammed gave the charge during his maiden visit to the station as part of his familiarization tour of the seven FRCN stations under the North-East Zone.

The Zonal Director urged the staff to continue to promote peace and unity through their content, in line with Radio Nigeriaโ€™s editorial policy. He reminded them of their responsibility to keep the public well-informed on issues of local and national importance.

Mr. Mohammed assured that capacity-building and training in convergence journalism and ICT will be prioritized to enhance staff competence and improve overall productivity.

He commended the Director-General of the Corporation, Dr. Mohammed Bulama, for resolving long-standing power challenges by facilitating the installation of solar lighting systems across the seven stations in the zone, ensuring steady operations.

The Zonal Director also urged the stations to boost internal revenue generation, plug leakages, and explore new funding sources to address minor operational challenges.

Earlier, the General Manager of Peace FM Maiduguri, Abba Mohammed Dikko, appreciated the corporationโ€™s management for the solar power intervention and reaffirmed the stationโ€™s commitment to maintaining its lead in the stateโ€™s broadcast landscape.

He also pledged the loyalty and cooperation of staff to the new Zonal Director toward achieving the corporationโ€™s goals.
