Troops Bust Terror Support Network, Arrest 18 in Borno
Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested 18 individuals suspected of supplying logistics to Boko Haram terrorists, exposing a growing concern over civilian involvement in insurgent support networks in Nigeria’s North East. According to preliminary findings, the suspects were intercepted while travelling from Gubio towards the Gudumbali axis, allegedly on a mission to deliver supplies to terrorist elements. Initial confessions indicate that many of them were lured into the illegal activity due to economic hardship, underscoring how insurgent groups continue to exploit vulnerable individuals to sustain their operations. The Nigerian Army has strongly cautioned citizens against any form of collaboration with terrorist groups, stressing that providing logistics, intelligence, or any form of assistance constitutes a serious offence with far-reaching consequences for national security and public safety. The Army further emphasised that the fight against terrorism requires collective responsibility. It noted that the success of ongoing military operations largely depends on the vigilance, cooperation, and active support of local communities. Citizens were therefore urged to report suspicious movements promptly and resist any inducement to support criminal elements.
