The Headquarters Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, has assured residents of the North East of adequate security arrangements ahead of the Eid El Kabir celebrations scheduled for Wednesday, May 28, 2026.

In a statement issued by the Media Information Officer of Operation HADIN KAI, Lieutenant Colonel Sani Uba, the command extended felicitations to Muslim faithful and urged residents to celebrate peacefully.

The statement disclosed that intelligence reports indicate possible attempts by remnant Boko Haram and ISWAP elements to launch isolated attacks on civilian targets during the festive period, especially in crowded areas.

Operation HADIN KAI, however, assured the public that proactive measures have already been taken to forestall any threat.

According to the statement, troops have been deployed to critical locations across the theatre of operations, while surveillance activities, patrols, and intelligence monitoring have also been intensified in collaboration with other security agencies, the Civilian Joint Task Force, and community vigilance groups.

The command advised residents to remain vigilant throughout the celebrations by avoiding unnecessary movements, especially at night, and reporting suspicious persons or objects to security agencies.

It also urged the public to cooperate with security personnel during patrols and screening operations, while warning against the spread of unverified information capable of causing panic.

Operation HADIN KAI further called on traditional rulers, religious leaders, media organisations, and community stakeholders to support ongoing efforts by encouraging residents to provide timely and credible security information.

The command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring peaceful and secure Eid El Kabir celebrations across the North East.
